Easter Adventure Training Camp

GENERAL.  The Battalion will be holding an Adventure Training Camp over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, 1st - 5th April 2010.  The event will be based at Capel Curig Training Camp, Snowdonia in Wales. 
AIM.   The aim of the AT Camp is to introduce cadets to various Adventure Training disciplines over the course of the event, exposing them to the mental and physical skills required to allow them to safely operate in an outdoor environment.  Activities will include a minimum of three of the following:
  • ClimbingHill
  • Walking
  • Kayaking
  • Mountain Biking
  • Adventure Centre (multi-activity location; Bouldering, Zip-slide, caving, abseiling etc)
TIMINGS.   We will depart on the evening of Thursday 1st April 2010 from specified locations across the County, and disperse on the afternoon of Monday 5th April 2010.  Detailed timings will be issued.
PARTICIPATION AND ELLEGIBILITY.   

 

Cadets
The event is open to all Cadets aged 14yrs and above on 1st April 2010.  They should have completed their 1 Star APC, and be physically and mentally capable of undertaking the activities detailed above.  Each Company is allocated 9 spaces, totalling 36 Cadets.  Company Commanders are requested to ensure only suitable Cadets attend.
Staff
All Bt Adventure Team staff are requested to attend.  Additional staff will be required to assist in the running of the weekend.  Interested staff should contact the Bt Adventure Team.
COST. The cost per Cadet is expected to be a maximum of £50.

Cadet 150 - Romania Expedition

16 Cadet Training Team are offering Adult staff and cadets an opportunity to do an expedition to Romania in celebration of the Cadet 150. This follows a successful expedition for Oxfordshire ACF during 2009. The dates of the 2010 expedition will allow everyone the opportunity to still attend Annual Camp. Cadets must be over 16 years at the time of the expedition. All cadets wlll be able to gain their Summer Mountain Proficiency.

Annual Camp 2010

We are going to Swynnerton Training Camp in Staffordshire starting 25th July until 6th August 2010. More details to follow after our Recces have been carried out. Watch this space!
