Cadet RSM Ross Gardiner 1st (NI) Bn ACF presented with ACF Champion Cadet trophy by Commandant Sandhurst

Each year since 2001 the Army Cadet Force Champion Cadet Competition has been held at Frimley Park to identify the very best ACF cadet of the year. This year's winner, Cadet Regimental Sergeant Major Ross Gardiner (18) from 1st (Northern Ireland) Battalion Army Cadet Force, was presented with the coveted winner's trophy, on Friday 30 October, by the Commandant of the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Major General Patrick Marriott CBE, at the final parade of Master Cadet Course 093.
Ross described the whole day: "as beyond expectation and that he was enormously proud to have won such a prestigious competition."
Major General Marriott said that he was immensely impressed by the event, and congratulated both the 41 cadets on parade and Ross for "his incredible achievement to become truly this year's best cadet in the ACF, from among 44,000".
