Cadet 150 Sports Weekend

A Tri-Service it's a Knock out Competition is being held at RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire.  This is part of the Cadet 150 Sports programme.  For more information, please speak to your Detachment Commander.

Exercise Combat Cadet 2010

Exercise Combat Cadet, the annual 49 (E) Bde Cadet Skills Competition, will take place at Stanford Training Area (STANTA), during the weekend of 1 - 3 October 2010.  The exercise will be conducted in three competitive phases as follows:

 

Phase 1 Team rotation through eleven static stands conducted during daylight hours on Saturday 2 October.

 

Phase 2 Team night navigation, conducted on Saturday 2 October.

 

Phase 3 Assault Course Competition and a March 5 km, conducted on Sunday 3 October

 

There has been a number of changes to this years competition due to operational commitments and the availability of training areas.  The main changes are changes to the stand locations and content and due to operational commitments, the ranges are unavailable. 

 

The minimum age for all competitors is 15 years of age as at 1 October 2010. 

 

Exercise Combat Cadet is designed to test the ability of the more senior cadets, thus unit commanders are strongly advised to give serious consideration to the ability and experience before final team selection is made.

Eastern Region Swimming Championships

National Swimming 2010

The National Swimming Competition for 2010 will be held at RMA Sandhurst on 16 October 2010.    The format will be the same as last year, with boys and girls taking part in both junior and senior events.

 

JUNIOR CADETS

Cadets under 16 years of age on the day of the national competition.  Juniors will do 2 lengths in all events.  To qualify, cadets will need to have been born on or after 17 October 1994.

 

SENIOR CADETS

Cadets 16 and under 18 years and 9 months on the day of the national competition.  Seniors will swim 3 lengths in all events, except the butterfly, which will be 2 lengths.  To qualify, cadets will need to have been born on or after 17 Jan 1992 and before 16 October 1994.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation has been arranged at Longmoor Camp.  There will also be limited accommodation available at RMAS, for duty personnel.  All those being accommodated will need to bring a sleeping bag, knife, fork, spoon and mug with them.

 

DRESS

Cadets to report in plain clothes.  Officers and adults should be in plain clothes.  Swimming costumes should be of the approved ASA pattern.  PLEASE NOTE THAT BERMUDA SHORTS, CUT DOWN JEANS OR BIKINIS ARE ACCEPTABLE.

 

ENTERTAINMENT

A disco and NAAFI facilities will be arranged for those cadets staying at Longmoor Camp on Saturday 16 October.  A limited bar facility will also be arranged for Officers and Adult Instructors.  All regions will be responsible at all times for the supervision and conduct of their cadets.

Girls Multi-Sports

The Girls Multi-Sports Competition will be held at RAF Honnington, over the weekend of 20/21 November 2010.  Trials to decide who will compete are to be held at Annual Camp. For more information about the event, click here to contact the Sports Officer.

ACF National Girls' 6-A-Side Football

Nottinghamshire ACF has been tasked to deal with the organisation and administration of the National Girls' 6-A-Side Football this year.  The event will be held on Saturday 27 November, 2010, at Dayncourt School, Cropwell Road, Radcliffe-on-Trent, Nottingham, NG2 2FQ.  The matches will be played on 3 (1/3rd size) outside/all weather artificual-turf/rubber crumb (latest generation) pitches.

 

AGE GROUPS


Juniors.  Female cadets must be under 15 years of age on 1 September 2010, so to qualify, cadets will need to have been born on, or after 2 September 1995.

 

Seniors. Female cadets must be over 15 and under 18 years of age on 1 September 2010, so to qualify, cadets need to have been born between 2 September 1992 and 1 September 1995.

 

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation is available overnight on Friday 26 November and Saturday 27 November 2010, if required.  This will be at Beckingham Training Camp, Woodgate Lane, Beckingham, Nr Newark, LN5 0RL.

 

 

We very much hope that this competition will be as well attended and keenly fought, as with the 2008 inaugural competition.  In order to assist the organisers, please forward your completed Annexes A and B, which have been sent separately to you via e-mail, to this Headquarters, no later than Friday 15 October 2010.
