Notts ACF Band
Corps of Drums at the Major Oak

Nottinghamshire Corps of Drums is based at Cavendish Detachment, The Welfare Hall, Mansfield Road, Clipstone. They parade between 1900 and 2100 on a Wednesday and you may simply just turn up if you want to get involved. Any new cadet, adult or new recruit wishing to join need not have any musical ability and tuition can be given on any instrument at no cost.

The music wing of Nottinghamshire ACF is a new venture & needs willing and committed individuals to progress this into the future. No other Couty has succeeded in a venture such as this, Nottinghamshire will lead the way. We are looking to form a County wide band, drum corps & bugle corps to entertain at all types of events. Eventually we hope to have detachments accross the city and county.

The Corps of Drums staff are as follows:

Detachment Commander: WSSI K. Corrigan

Director of Music: Cpt J. Corrigan

Staff: SI C. Douglas, PI C. Gillott, PI H. Medley

To contact the adult instructors either phone 07771 570338 for the Director of Music or 07749 812968 for the DC. Alternatively click here to e-mail them.

Future Camps and Events:

Music awareness day:

A music awareness day will be held at Bulwell detachment on Saturday 14th March 2009 starting at 0900 hrs finishing around lunchtime at 1300 hrs.

The day is open to all C Battery cadets or adults. You may bring your own instrument or try out any we have from drum to wind or brass. NO COST INCURRED!

The training covers, Corps of Drum/Band training from introduction to the instrument to basic handling. Brief background knowledge, basic music to get them started and a short display by all participants at the end of the day.  The idea being to build their belief in their own ability (tried and tested).

Beckingham Camp - 27 - 29th March 2009:

Similar training, although not on the same scale, will also be availible over the weekend of 27th - 29th March 2009 at Beckingham Camp, for any cadets or adults from other interested units.

We will also be putting on a concert in the theatre on the Saturday evening for all to attend.
