National Athletics Tournament 2009
7 Notts cadets represented Eastern (49 Bde) Region in the National Athletics Championships at Grantham on Saturday 13 June 2009, the Eastern Team put in some great performances against the 10 ACF Regional Teams. In a hard fought Championship, the Eastern team emerged as 2009 Overall Champions.
Sgt Thompson deserves a particular mention for his outstanding performance in successfully defending his 3 National Intermediate Boys Titles in 800m, 1500m and Long Jump. Also Cadet Benton who was called up at short notice was crowned Intermediate Boys National Champion in Discus and was part of the winning Relay Team. To add to the occasion, Lady Sarah McQuorkindale the High Sherriff of Lincolnshire presented medals to the winners.
Colonel Rippon, Commandant Notts ACF attended the Championship and witnessed the Eastern victory:

very well done'
