11 Nottinghamshire Cadets represented Eastern Region at the National Athletics Championship held at Grantham on Saturday 14 June.

Out of the 10 Regions taking part, Eastern finished in 3rd place with London winning and North East second. Notts Cadets put in some great performances against strong teams of Athletes from Army Cadet Forces across Britain.

Cpl Thompson of Retford Det, B Coy became ACF National Champion at 800m and 1500m in the Intermediate Boys Category, to add to his Cross Country ACF National Champion title in March.

CSM Dinsdale of Chilwell Det, A Coy became ACF National Shot Putt Champion in the Senior Boys Category

Sgt Harris of Chilwell Det A Coy became ACF National Long Jump Champion in the Intermediate Girls Category

Bdr Johnson of Bulwell Det, C Bty became ACF National Long Jump Champion in the Senior Boys Category. This is a fantastic achievement as Johnson has now represented Eastern Region at National level in 4 different disciplines (Swimming, Rugby, Cross County and Athletics) in the last 12 months and become National Champion in two of them.

CSM Burton of Chilwell Det A Coy was second in the Senior Girls 100m

An exceptional effort by all Notts cadets who took part in the Championship and many thanks to the adults who helped out on the day.
