Two weeks of Annual Camp and packed schedules. Military skills training, kayaking, canoeing, archery, paint balling, mountain biking, climbing, sports and shooting. Two Chinook helicopters visited us and everyone got a ride in the monsters. On our day off we took the cadets to a theme park which was excellent.
It's not all work and no play! There's an officers mess and there's a dinner each year where all the mess silver comes out - mess dress and DJs too.
Received a surprise visit from a cadet who left to join the army and is on leave from Iraq. I organised an informal discussion with the cadets about life in the army. It's always rewarding to see your ex-cadets come back to visit you.
Put two cadets forward for the signals course at Blandford, home of the Royal School of Signals, to learn about army radios and how to operate and repair them.
