Company Christmas Camp this weekend. Whilst most of the weekend revolved around training, from Saturday dinner time onwards, it was very different. We've a tradition that at Christmas the adult instructors and officers serve the cadets their Christmas dinners... in fancy dress! Dinner was followed by a Christmas disco - you try controlling 120 party starved teenagers!
We finished for the year tonight. It's been a busy but good year with plenty to look back on and be proud of. My personal development has been enormous. A couple of years ago I could never see myself doing what I do now. Responsibility to me always seemed like someone else's... well, responsibility. But here I am looking after this detachment and organising all these activities. The sense of pride I have now in myself and my cadets is staggering. I wouldn't swap this hobby for anything in the world! Merry Christmas.
