Fieldcraft training exercise this weekend. Friday night and 120 cadets are sleeping in a tactical holding ‘harbour' area. All night cadets were convinced they could here the enemy creeping up on us. We were all up and defending our position at 5am to repel an attack from our enemy.
Spent the rest of Saturday patrolling the training area trying to locate the enemy. We put in a dusk ambush after receiving some ‘intelligence from friendly forces' and struck a blow for the good guys! Sunday was another early start and a big attack on the enemy harbour area. with pyrotechnics and lots of blank ammunition. The realism is quite awesome.
Visit from our county Duke of Edinburgh's Award adviser. The great thing about the DofE scheme is that it is internationally recognised and as a result, very valuable to our cadet's future careers.
