The Cadet Training Team came to see us tonight. They're experienced regular soldiers who help out with training senior cadets. Tonight they came down with Light Support Weapons (LSW) and showed cadets training at 3 star level how to operate them safely.
Appalling weather meant a change of plan to an indoor lesson using classroom furniture, party poppers and a blindfold. I tied trip wires to the party poppers and furniture. Blindfolded cadets had to get across the room using techniques taught for moving carefully in the dark. The results were hilarious.
Two of my senior cadets registered with the Cadet Vocational Qualifications Office for the BTEC in Public Services. This is part of cadet training and is equivalent to 4 GCSEs at grade A to C or Scottish Standard grades at level 1 to 3. There are adult qualifications too. It's nice to get formal recognition for the work we put in.
