ACF instructor journey

October

Did Adventure Training this week. Kayaking was sooooo cold! What a week though. Climbing, mountain walking, canoeing and caving. The course is run along military lines, but I get a civilian as well as military qualification.

Sent a team to the county shooting competition. We've some good shots and came 5th out of 26 teams. One of my cadets won best individual shot! There were targets at 100, 200 and 300 metres, plus an Electronic Target Range and a falling plate competition - sprint 100 metres, load and shoot 10 plates 100 metres away. There was even an officers versus non-commissioned officers competition (I won't embarrass anyone by saying who won).

Visited our local TA Centre. The highlight for the cadets was a selection of de-commissioned weapons. Cadets where given a talk on them, then stripped them down for a closer look. They also showed us some vehicles and kit they use.
