ACF instructor journey

September

The county, and two of my cadets, entered the Brigade Military Skills competition and came 3rd overall. Quite an achievement as there were 22 teams from 7 counties.

Orchestrated close target reconnaissance on another detachment. Camouflaged, we got as close in as possible without being seen. It takes real patience. The cadets really enjoyed it because for them it seemed like a real enemy.

Visited a local secondary school to talk to 12-14 years olds about the ACF. 250 youngsters were there! I did a slide show and played a video to highlight what the ACF is about. We also set up a big tent and brought all sorts of kit we use. Fingers crossed it went well but only time will tell.

Success. Eight new cadets turned up tonight and there are supposed to be more next week. If I can get 20 it will have been an excellent exercise.
