Through our relationship with the Cadet Vocational Qualification Organisation, ACF adult volunteers can earn valuable vocational qualifications that demonstrate to employers the value of their volunteering experience. For example, completing approved ACF Training courses could contribute to 75% of qualification requirements, the remainder being met through independent project work. You don't even have to sit any exams.
Here are some examples of the qualifications on offer to adult volunteers:
National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ's) are an alternative route to gaining a qualification that is based on a work role which assesses the skills and knowledge required to deliver and train First Aid within the Cadet Force. CVQO's Assessor and Verifier NVQs are currently only open to those Adults who attend the ACF First Aid Trainers course or to those members of the courses directing staff.
The NVQs on offer are:
L10 and L11 - Enables Learning through Presentation, Demonstration and Instruction
A1 - Assesses Candidates through a Range of Methods
A2 - Assesses Candidates through Observation
V1 - Conduct Internal Quality Assurance of the Assessment Process
All are recognised VQ awards which show you have demonstrated a number of skills. The ‘L' awards show your ability to teach through presentation, demonstration and instruction. The ‘A' awards highlight your ability to assess through a range of methods and the ‘V' award allows you to verify others work. All are highly valued qualifications in the civilian world.
