Advanced Drummers & Band Course 2008

Nearly 300 cadets from 25 contingents took part in the Music Concentration held at Longmoor Camp during the October Half Term.  As part of the 4 Star & BTEC (Music) course, the senior cadets have to organise an event.  This year the cadets recce'd the "old folks" home at Shannon Court, Hindhead and then delivered a drums display and band concert to the residents and Friends Committee.  The evening was rounded off with the band playing a selection of war time songs, with the residents singing along to Roll Out the Barrel, Pack Up Your Troubles and other favourites.

The home thanked the cadets and has invited back for next year.

Lt Col Mike Neville, National Training Officer, Cadet Force Music said, "I would like to thank the senior cadets for organising a wonderful display.  They were helped by the expert guidance of Lt Bob Rutherford, Dorset ACF, a drums expert and Capt Steve Croney of Hants ACF, who runs an excellent band".
