The ACF Athletics took place again at Meres Stadium, Grantham organised by Lincolnshire ACF. The day was a great success with several hundred cadets of all ages from eight of the ten ACF Sports' regions. In fact if all ten regions competed it would create profound difficulties for the organisers not least because there are few stadiums in UK with more than eight lanes. There was a strong turnout of VIPs headed by the Ld Lt of Lincolnshire Mr Tony Worth, including the High Sherriff of Lincolnshire Lady Sarah McCorquodale, the Mayor and Mayoress of Grantham, The Mayor & Mayoress of Lincoln, the MP for Grantham & Stamford Mr Quentin Davies MP and the Chief Executive of the East Midlands RFCA Brig William Hurrell.
The overall champions for 2009 were Eastern Region (49 Bde).
