The 150th anniversary of the Cadet Forces falls in 2010, a programme of activities designed to celebrate and promote the success and value of the Cadet movement in its 150th year. With all four Cadet organisations taking part, representing some 130,000 cadets and their 25,000 adult volunteers, 2010 promises to be a year to remember.
Central to the celebrations will be a large-scale royal review in central London in July (some of the other national events planned are listed below). There will also be regional and local events of all kinds taking place in communities in every corner of the UK throughout the year - all designed to make people at every level of society sit up and take notice.
In order to enable the ACF to offer an enormous range of opportunities to more people, youngsters and adults alike, it needs to secure ever more public and private support - and this entire programme is designed to do just that, by drawing attention to the extraordinary achievements of this movement over the last 150 years.
