New Gloucestershire Army Cadets Executive Officer honoured

 

Major Alec Masson, recently appointed Cadet Executive Officer for Gloucestershire Army Cadets, was presented with a Certificate of Commendation for his previous service with Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland Army Cadets. This unique certificate, signed by the Lord Lieutenants of the three counties, honoured Alec's five years as their Cadet Executive Officer and was presented by Gloucestershire Army Cadets' Commandant, Colonel Lance Ranson TD.

Tug of War Coach

Alec joined the Regular Army in 1968, serving with the Royal Tank Regiment, Royal Artillery, Royal Horse Artllery and Royal Signals until 2004, when he joined the Army Cadets. Alec's other interest is that he is England National Squad coach for Under 18 Tug of War Team, coaching the squad into sixth place at the 2009 World Championships. Alec is forming a Glos Army Cadets Tug of War Team - training starts on 15 Jan 2010; and wants to take an Army Cadets Team to the World Championships in South Africa in 2010 and Wisconsin, USA in 2012
