Visting the weekend Colonel Ian Denison Commandant of the Sector and a great supporter of the Award said " The Army Cadet Force is one of the largest promoters and partners in the Award and we are keen to ensure that leaders are equipped with the best means of helping young people. Cadets can achieve the Award through many of the activities which they do while following the  cadet syllabus so it makes real sense to join them up. The Award is a readily recognised achievement which gives youngsters a head start in the adult world "

Lt Darren Murphy from Staines is the Award Officer for the Middx & NW London cadets and organised the weekend. " It makes perfect sense to help young people to reach their potential often in a practical way - what we are doing here is making sure that the leaders and adult instructors understand fully what's needed and how best to make use of the resources available"

The Army Cadet Force is aiming to increase the number of successful bronze , silver and gold Award holders in its ranks.
