As part of the celebrations to recognise the 150 years that the Cadet Forces have been established, 60 Cadets and 10 Cadet Force Adult Volunteers, to be selected from the Combined Cadet Force, Sea Cadet Corps, Army Cadet Force and Air Training Corps, are being offered the opportunity of a lifetime.
In July 2010 the party will set off for the three week expedition to the rugged and isolated Kingdom of Lesotho where they will assist in community projects in this impoverished yet spectacular Country in addition to undertaking a number of challenging expeditions including traversing the unspoiled Drakensburg Mountains and visiting some of the remote hillside villages and open canoeing around the stunning Katse Dam.
The expedition will conclude with Battlefield Tours of Rorke's Drift and Islandwana.
Not for the fainthearted, selection for this fabulous expedition is now underway with applications being sought by local unit Headquarters for both Cadets and Adults. Cadets must be over 16 at the time of the expedition and must have a minimum of three years service. Adult applicants should have higher level Adventure Training qualifications in suitable disciplines.
