The 2008 ACF National Athletics Competition, organised by Lincolnshire ACF, took place at Grantham on Sat 14th June 2008. Eight out of the ten ACF regions took part. The weather was a typical June mixture of sun, cloud, torrential rain and blustery winds. One of the ACFA gazebos was seen taking off and destroying itself on the boundary fence; meanwhile the ACF cadets ignored the conditions to put in some fine sporting performances. At least one sporting record was broken - the senior Girls' 1500 metres, which had stood at 5.53 since 2004. Cadet CSM Louise Jukes from South East Region (Sussex ACF) came storming across the tape in 5.46.5. The day was a huge success enjoyed by all.
London was the clear winner with sufficient points to be in the first two places of every class. Second was the North East. Prizes were presented by the Mayors of Grantham and Lincoln, and the High Sherriff of Lincoln. The MP for Grantham, Mr Quentin Davies, presented the cup for the overall winners - London.
