At the recent national ACF Athletics Meeting at Grantham, amongst several local dignitaries, was the MP for Grantham and Stamford - Mr Quentin Davies. Mr Davies has recently been in the public eye for writing a report for the Prime Minister on National Recognition of our Armed Forces. Mr Davies spent several hours at the Competition talking to officials and cadets alike. One of the prizes he presented was to Cadet CSM Louise Jukes from Sussex ACF who had comprehensively broken the 1500 metres record. In a letter to ACFA after the competition Mr Davies wrote:
Truly our cadet forces do an extraordinary job for the young people who join them, and I am sure that they should be further expanded and developed to the greatest extent possible without diluting the high standards that the ACF currently displays, and rightly insists upon.
